China has a bad history with large scale protests. I pray democracy prevails, but that is not the trend.
I'm told the extradition bill they are protesting over is just a cover for disappearing people in to mainland China that the powers that be do not like. The people of Hong Kong are very afraid of being spirited away in the dark of night by law enforcement to a Chinese prison, never to be heard from again.
They should have thrown a bigger fit before 1997.
