Test paragraph/blockquote

I've used the blockquote tag for years. it is out of convention now. The quote below is just a paragraph tag with special settings. Every now and again, those old tags drop off the radar. So, I'm learning how to use a tag that can't really go anywhere.

Example opening tags

<p style="margin-left:40px;margin-right:40px;background-color:#d0ffd0;padding:8px">

This is a test paragraph.

<blockquote style="background-color:#d0f0d0;padding:8px">

This is a test blockquote.

Update

Then I tried to use a <div> to right align some text inside that paragraph. You cannot nest <p> tags. Never mind.
