New Phrase

The Dolli Lama uses the term 'Demographic Aggression' to describe the Chinese brining in 6000 or so Chinese people a day to Tibet. I'm going to start using that term more.

Another thing the Dolli Lama seems to have learned is that Tibet's policy of isolationism has hurt the Buddhist or autonomy effort of that territory. He acknowledges that the internet and communication with the outside world and China itself have helped the effort far more than it has hurt.

A tour of journalists last week to prove how harmonious the relationship between China and Tibet had become was interrupted by several weeping monks complaining about oppression and the loss of basic freedoms. Ah, irony. Sometimes the thigh taste is sweet. I fear that China will annihilate Tibet or at least the part of the population China does not like, after the Olympics.

People are calling for boycott of Chinese goods. There are a few calls for boycotting the Olympics. I say "Good luck with that." Everything is made in China, or part of it is made in China. So it seems.

India is pissed at the Dolli Lama over India's relationship with China. I'm going to have to sit down and add the population of India and China together and figure out just how many people of the world are upset with the spiritual leader.

Some worry that the Tibetan community may take a p[age or two from the Palestinian play book. There have not been many Tibet based terrorists. China and others worry about subside bombers. and the like. Right now people including several celebrities have a special place in their hearts regarding Tibet. Anything like this starts and all that will fade like a puff of smoke. I'm quite neutral on the subject at the moment. That will flip on a dime if one terrorist action happens. They will make my list.
