Everyone at my company spouts the word blockchain every five minuets. I don't think 5 of them get what blockchain actually means or does.
Blockchain takes a node in a database and basses the encryption it uses on previous nodes in the same database. So, you have to have access to the previous nodes (be able to decrypt them) in order to add to the database. That is the bit people don't get. It is just a partially decrypted and partially encrypted database.
The millisecond the encryption is broken, it is all gone. It will just all go poof. It will happen so fast that I doubt the bad guys will have time to cash in.
