Of course tomorrow is going to be cloudy. Clear Thursday and Friday and nasty on the weekend. Dag Nabit. This is how it goes. I need to mow the backyard so I’m not too worried about it. Cloudy and dry is better than sunny and dry.

That rule I made a long time about that said “Everything goes on the blog.” is not holding up. It is just easier to put things on Google+ and Facebook from my phone. I do most of my publishing from the phone these days. I would use a tablet if I had one, but I’m not up for spending any money on one. I have an awesome phone that doubles as a tablet. I’m good. My next laptop will be whatever I can find used because I don’t want to spend the money on the operating system. I will put Linux on it and go about my day.

I walked in to the little deli at work this morning intent to get some breakfast. They were busy and the food just stopped smelling good. It is funny how emotion affects us. I couldn’t face not being able to read the menu and having to ask what stuff was. Every one else seems to just know what was available and how to ask for it. There is a bit of a language barrier as well. I’m hungry.

Unemployment for disabled jumped to 14%. Yikes.

Had to deal with some tax stuff today. I could feel my heartbeat in my head. When I say taxes are going to kill me, I am not exaggerating.

My wrist hurts. I do not know what I did to it. I hate that. I’ve hit some age where random shit hurts for no reason. I honestly think I slept on it funny and pulled a tendon or the weed eater did me in the other weekend and the injury just didn’t present until a couple days ago. I put an ACE bandage on it last night and it helped greatly. The bandage dug in to my skin and left some marks so I have asked Nat to pick me up a wrist brace from CVS.

I typed the above paragraph and the only spelling mistakes that were made were two words stuck together without a space between them. This is a symptom of an uncomfortable keyboard and typing too quickly.

I just used Evernote to take some information and email it to my wife. I did this on my phone. I am freaking happy this worked. This makes me think this whole phone tablet thing is workable. I used multiple cloud services in the process of completing this simple task.

2014-03-06
Yesterday, I walked on the street on the way in. Probably should have done the same thing today. I slipped in the mud and fell on my ass. I’m in the danger zone because I’ve noticed I’ve been falling back and to the left a lot. Then, I twisted my ankle. Between this and banging my knee yesterday, I’m a mess.

An episode of the Simpson’s taught me that evil people are evil and making them act good just makes them more evil. The same is not true about good people. They are the most evil of all when they turn.

Had a couple machines flip their shit this morning. They would not get IPs. They could thus, not find any other machines on the network. I played with one of them for 45 minutes. I ended up walking away to try again after some time doing something else. I went so far as to locate some hardware to replace the server if need be. The waiting strategy worked. I simply rebooted the machine after about three hours and it just worked. This means it was external to the serves with the issue. Heard later I was not the only one with the issue.

I’ve been the last one to get my food at this place a couple times. i got my food first tosay. Can’t remember the last time that happened.

Thoughts on Racism

Racism is not only evil, it is just stupid and not applicable any longer. I believe humans are hardwired to accept racism if it is presented to them as they mature in to adults.

Human brains are designed to recognize patterns and apply those patterns to actions and results. This in combination with the power of suggestion makes racism easy to teach. Once learned, racism is very difficult to turn around due to the concept of overcoming existing investment and the fact that people make excuses for exceptions to make sure they fit in to existing patterns.

However, racism can be overcome. It can be reversed to zero. Unfortunately, it can be much more easily replaced with racism aimed in a different direction. Sometimes this is called reverse racism,  but it is simply the same gun aimed at a different target. More often than not, racism against one group is simply replaced with the same racism against another group because the same pattern reinforcement is being applied. (same gun, different target).
