Oil in the sand

Canada has scads of oil in the tar-sand form near Alberta. Canada is a democracy. There for, the lawsuits have started. In third world countries, people are simply told to shut up and deal with it. That is the end of the argument. In first world countries the cost of digging up identical oil is tripled by the lawsuits and legislation and unions and environmental impact studies and the second layer of environmental impact studies because the first set didn't say what someone wanted them to say, and tie-dying t-shirts for the protesters.

Apparently, the amount of oil in this field rivals that of Saudi Arabia. This is convienly located in the sovereign territory of a stanch ali of the U. S.. They are pretty laid back folks on top of that.

The gripe is that the oil obtained this way produces either 15% more or 3 times as much green house gas, depending on whom you listen to, to make it to market.

The process also takes three barrels of water to get one barrel of oil. You have to feed live baby seals in to the pipes for some reason. trekkies and brown coats living together, ANARCHY!!!!
