Ergo Proxy

Ergo Proxy showed up on hulu at some point. It is all about ending slavery and nature vs nurture. It has that loss of identity thing that so many science fiction stories have. The omnipotent government and the ability of the government control reality because they can control the news, data feeds and even the testimony of robots in court.

It is a non post apocalyptic story. The world survived some kind of environmental trouble and now lives in a dome city or cities. The subsuviant robots catch a virus that makes them self aware. Some super power killer is avenging something by killing humans. I'm not sure.

The animation looks funny. I'm not sure why. It reminds me a little of Batman cartoon series in the dark painted look. It looks like a black and white move in many respects. They did have that cliché scene with a baby carriage slowly rolling down a flight of stairs as the mother is murdered, unable to help. It doesn't look like a lot of thought went in to the plot. Style was the most important consideration in this series.

I give it a 5 out of 10.  Good visuals. Just confusing enough to keep you interested. The dubbing was good as far as I could tell. At least they used actors.
