Science

When someone asks you if you "believe in science" they do not understand science. I don't have to believe in dresser to stub my toe on it on the way to the can. Science is a wrench with which to build and discover, not a religion.

At some point,a bunch of politicians did  some research and discovered that people will belie what you say to them if you put the word science in it somewhere. People seem to love the idea of being surprised at what science can do. Science is a list of rules and methods for which to understand the universe, not a conjuring stone. That sounds a lot like a religion. The difference is a religion makes excuses for the universe, science changes the rules based on observation and repeatable experimentation.
