It wasn't me. You can't prove anything.

Notes 2014-11-05

I opened up tabs in my browser today 15 times and forgot what they were for. That is how often I got interupted.

Why the Democrats lost and Republicans won. Basically people were fed up with the existing government and had few choices. Another opinion.

What will I be remembered for after I shuffle off this mortal coil? Perhaps a spelling mistake that ends the world.

DC legalizes marijuana, but it is still illegal in the U. S.. Well done us.

FAA all over this kind of thing. Warning, the link is talking about pornagraphy.

Voting

I’m not going to vote this time round.

  • My vote doesn’t mean anything.
  • Voter fraud is prevalent. It makes me sick that I do not have to show ID. It cheapens the experience drastically. It makes me think “Someone is just going to steal my vote anyway.” It feels like walking in to a bank with no lock on the vault.
  • I don’t like anyone running. I haven’t done much homework, but I dislike them all, I promise.

One of my office mates is big in to voting. She got Adam to say he will go vote. That means I need to go vote to counter his liberal viewpoint. Thanks. Eren.

“If you don’t vote you can’t complain.” Oh, I

Notes

Fascism at work in the U. S.. Use more than your fingerprint to lock your phone. At some point, the government wants no secrets kept from it. How long will it be before a list of all passwords will be required upon arrest?

So many people in my office believe that everyone else who votes is ignorant.

There are some employers who dock you (make you pay back) overtime from previous periods if you miss time in the current period. Not sure what the rules are.

Music people and music companies are finally figuring out that many people just don’t want to pay for music. Someone is not going to get what they want. I do not subscribe to any online audio or video services. i have cable TV. I want to get rid of cable TV. I will then sign up for some streaming services. Not until I find a good ISP.

Titanium was too expensive for the filament in light bulbs. Eventually Edison settled on bamboo threads. Tungsten came along later.

I wonder what my Homeland Security file looks like. As much as I rant about the government I bet I have one. I’m harmless. Mostly.

Bit harsh. Maybe not.

At some point they are going to have to build houses out of foam because of the fear of someone using a board with a nail in it as a weapon.

Notes

I felt sick all weekend. I still feel sick. I have some kind of sinus thing going on still. I may not have come in to work today if Nat and I had not planned on taking Thursday. It is our wedding anniversary.

What kind of miracle drug is Tylenol? It is one of the few drugs I take that makes me feel better. That and caffeine.

Weekend in review

  • Cleaned up Halloween decorations
The tree is full of fake cobwebs. I mean a ton of permanent non bio or photodegradable asbestos threads that feel and look like the real thing. They grab hold of you and cling like the real thing. A bird got caught in them and nearly died. Never again!
  • Paid bills
Thank you lord for the money to pay the bills.
  • Drank and blogged several K-Cup coffees.
  • I felt sick most of the weekend. Sick as in sinus crap. The house is dusty. I need to spend more time outside. The weather is nice enough to go out and do something. Might even have a chance to shoot a video.
  • I rebuilt a Linux VM I use for video editing. (after screwing up the old one by doing updates)
    • Installed the OS
    • Installed my software
    • Installed more software I forgot about
    • Fixed settings that I forgot about.
    • Ran multiple sets of updates they didn’t tell me about.
    • Fixed the installer I put on the box that broke after the second or third round of updates.
    • Tried Everpad (fail)
    • Tried Nixnote (fail)
    • Installed Wine and Evernote client for Windows (worked) Ironically, I really only use one note out of Evernote on this VM.

Everpad had a genuine library problem. Something to do with “lenses” not being available in Ubuntu any longer.

NixNote, which worked fine before simply refused to let me log in to the Evernote system. It was not even trying to use the credentials I gave it. I tried googling the issue, but it must just be me.

I cannot explain how pissed I am that Everpad and Nixnote didn’t work on that VM. The fact that it turned out to be easier to install Wine and run the Windows client for Evernote makes me want to puke.

K-Cup bit harsh

Today is Halloween. ... Boo!

I’m noticing Donut House vs Donut Shop K-Cups. Itis just two different companies putting out a K-Cup. They do have different flavors. I would like to hear about  a paragraph about the rivalry between these two groups.

“We will triple match your contribution” X is the contribution. X+X is matching the contribution onece. X+X+X Is double matching. X+X+X+X is triple matching.

Japan will soon put the kibosh on saving. Word has it the powers that be will begin charging people to put their money in a bank. This is what you get when you have an electronic currency. You can’t pull your money out of the system and hide it under the mattress.

Early Halloween morning

Someone did the math and supposed one could have purchased every cow on the planet with the money used in Quantitative Easing.

Voter Fraud (paranoia)

Israel is unfazed over “Chickenshit” comment. They have to put up with far worse from their neighbors. More.

I like these folks. No-Shit kind of people.

Completely rebuilt my virtual Linux machine on my Windows machine at work. I use it for Kdenlive which is Linux only. This time I told the computer it had a 100GB drive. It only takes up what it needs until you run out of space. I used 30G before and it refused to let me expand it. I thought I would have all  kinds of issues, but I didn’t. I was back up and running while doing other things at work and just letting this take the back burner. Of course, I haven’t actually tried to render a video yet. I’ll let the blog know how it goes.

Where is my cut?
