She sounds intelligent to me. Intelligence has nothing to do with what you believe in or how much you believe in it. A lot of people who call themselves activists or justice warier or other terms along that line do not even realize they are just looking for a  savior. They are lost in a sea of things they have  no control over and want desperately to cling on to someone else's raft..

This is where self reliance comes in. Build your own raft. Only warship things that cannot be taken away. Believe that people who tell you things need to show their work
