There's the bus.

Adding a shit ton of nodes to Evernote. Links anyway. I have already noticed one benefit. The fact that I’m going through several links makes me remove some old dead links and want to  look up some new ones. Also, I envision a great way to keep track of what happened at events better using this. I can link events, conversations and people. Nice.

Place firmly in the “could only be true because no one would believe it if it were made up.” category.
Obama’s pot dealer from high school  bludgeoned to death by gay lover. I like the final paragraph. If this sort of thing had happened to a Republican it would have been common knowledge in 2008.

I just don’t think the Republicans are any better than the Democrats. They are all pro big government. I think the government of the country in which people live should have the people’s back. our current government just doesn’t seem to fill that roll. So many countries are governed by people who think the people of that country only exist to give them power. It makes me ill.

The era of the macro lense coughed up “Attack of the Crab Monsters”. Also that one about giant ants. Well done macro lenses.

There is a theme in science fiction recently that says some people have a consciousness and some do not. This is why it is impossible to isolate consciousness in the brain. Some people are just empty biological machines. The idea of some people not having soules has been around for a long time. Usually, they are born with a soul and then lose it or abandon it at some point.

I’ve tried using the Movie Player in Red Hat 6.x linux with appropriate plugin for MP3s at work. It works, but every time any other program accesses the sound, the MP3 pauses, or crashes. I put DMMS on the system and finally installed the correct MP3 RPM and that works. What a huge difference. Not even a hiccup when other programs access the sound. Well, some programs are crap for sound. That is Red Hat. Media just seems to not be a priority.

Movie Spoilers. For when you just don’t want to watch a movie, but need to be able to talk about it.

If it works in the EU, it could work in the US. Stopping cars remotely. It usually boils down to modifying all cars to stop the couple that are used for running from police. Ford Motor Credit has hinted in the past that they want a GPS tracker in all cars they have a loan on regardless of the person taking out the loan. If Ford does it, they all will. Not sure I would care on my car or not. A remote kill switch would be too easily hacked. It is only one more step from this point to put a kill switch in as well.

I was the last one to get my food today. I’m probably a good pick for this because I eat like a hostage. The words “Someone please google it.” were spoken while discussing the different kinds of water propulsion.

Our thursday place is getting too busy for its britches. The service is declining even though there is more staff on hand. The food is still pretty good. When you get it.

So, have a plan?

I have to be honest, This whole Lunch conversation theme I have going on the blog has increased my ability to remember what people say in conversation. Interesting side effect. Helpful. There aer many worse things that could have come out of this. I’m thinking lawsuit, missing teeth. There is always tomorrow.

Link rot: When a link on the internet goes dead. There are several entities trying to make archives of the internet to prevent link rot. This is a good idea, but there will be hijacking involved. It is already happening with pure URLs. Where there is a buck there is a crook.

I can barely remember walking in this morning. I did something unique this morning as well. i tied my coat to my backpack. It dangled the whole way. It became annoying even. That is it. I don’t really remember much else. I have come to the point where all my walks or commutes meld in to one trip that has many different attributes. I suppose this is inevitable.

Bitcoin Arrests. I really want Bitcoin to succeed. I like the idea of an international currency not owned by people in power. These guys are screwing it up.

Cop of the future. I’ve noticed some of this stuff in practice online. Not all of it works as well as advertized.

Trying Evernote. No Linux client. There is an Android app. I have already made 10 notebooks, but only have 1 note. This is going to either be complex, or short lived. I’m already keeping a bunch of information in Google Docs, but it is not organized the same nor is it as easy to add media. I’m only interested in the free version of Evernotes and I am not familiar with the limitations there of. If anything, I have too many places to keep information.

Israel has our back even if we don’t have theirs.

The weather today promises to be interesting. Felt nice first thing this morning. Elle wanted to go to school without a jacket. “It’s fine” she says. This is as warm and dry as it is going to get all day. Freezing rain tonight and a slow wet decline until we get there. 70% chance of rain and 100% chance of freeze this evening. I will be working from home tomorrow if the commute is too bad. Too many people in Houston just got no cold weather sense.

When it comes to Apple vs Samsung patent crap, I really want both sides to lose. Not sure why. I have a Samsung

I was starting to worry about my phone’s battery. It died yesterday at 15:00 and I had to charge it. It was well drained by the time I got to charging it again last night. I noticed today something is wrong with the wifi at work. The phone was bouncing between 2 access points while I was just sitting at my desk That destroys the battery life of a particular charge. I’m going to have to remember to turn off wifi now when I am not using it. One more thing to worry about.

Like 40 people went from my work to the Chinese food place we normally hit on Thursdays. It took us an hour to get our food. One guy had to get his to go because everyone else had finished eating. Real drag. A couple people bailed. That turned out to be a good idea today.

12:00 - Walked across the street to Target to look at fans because my office is hot. They had 3 fans more or less. A box fan, a desktop fan and a stand (from the floor) fan. Didn’t get one. They were all open and looked like they had been repackaged. I hate that.

Sometimes I think I can just sit down and write something without really trying hard. Then I sit down and nothing comes. The same about fighting a dog or mountain lion. In my own head, I’m a warrior. In reality I’m a pudgy programmer.
