Depression off the coast

There is a tropical storm off the cost. Nobody used to pay attention to tropical depressions or storms. That all changed a couple of years ago when  one came along and dumped 36 inches of rain in one spot near down town Houston. I still remember the pictures that got circulated around the net for weeks of whole freeways under water. The Medical center flooded. The Houston underground (an oxymoron) flooded. Now people duck when they pass.

This morning on the news they showed a live freeway shot in the background. The shadows of the clouds were traveling as fast as the cars. The clouds have that ring affect going on. As the storms spiral out you get the eye-of-the-storm affect where the weather turns frightening for an hour or two then is all but clear for a while. Then goes right back to rubbish again.
